The tip for today is reward yourself. Most people like sweets, I know I do. A good reward to have on hand that is not really high in calories is low fat ice cream bars. There are some at the store that are as low as 70 calories. Most are about 100-140 calories. So, I'd stay UNDER 100 calories because the next thing you know you will be justifying 300 calorie ice cream bars etc. etc. etc. YOU KNOW?. Just remember when you have one you are taking in sugars. So, if you are going to do it, it is better to do it in the middle of the day to help burn off some of that extra sugar. Otherwise it can be converted to fat as you sleep.
Another item I have found is Baklava? I know? Most baklava has honey in it and honey is sweeter than sugar so you still get the sweetness but don't have to eat as much. Again, this is a control thing. For example I bought some and there were 8 individual items in the package and the package said serving size was 2. So, there were 4 servings per container. Each one was 210 calories per serving. BUT, if I only had 1/2 or 1 of these it is only 100 calories which is more manageable. I don't need that much PLUS BAKLAVA IS RICH. You can't really eat a lot of it because it is so sweet.
If you can't control yourself, definitely don't buy it. If you are in the advanced stages of your diet or well along, grab some and give it a try for your treat. I recommend having some people over and serving it and then you can send some with them and you will only be left with a few pieces :)
