Diet Tip of the Day

For a mid afternoon or mid morning snack I recommend  ONE of the following :

1. Muscle Milk or Oh Yeah ( it is low in sugar and about 220 cal.)

2. Protein shake (homemade). Often the kind you buy and mix with water or milk has no sugars or next to none.  With the shake a small handful of Bear Naked Granola. 1/4 cup is a serving and is about 110 calories depending on the kind you get.  BUT, the Bear Naked Granola does not have much sugar which is an advantage

3. Greek Yogurt.  If you want lower sugars you have to get the plain kind.  I think the plain kind is really gross.  If you like it, go for it.  The kind with fruits does have a lot of sugar tho.  A few a week is not going to kill you and it is good to switch up your mid morning meal.  Let's face it, it can't be soup !!   With this have some Bear Naked granola.

4. A few almonds.  Problem with this is it doesn't really fill you up.

5. A serving of Natural Peanut butter.  Natural Peanut Butter is low in sugar.  This strategy is better if you do it as the morning snack rather than afternoon but know that this option does not really make you feel full. I recommend against this because it is easy to over use this option by getting a bigger scoop. 

6. You could eat vegetables but the idea here is to get some protein in you in the middle of the day.

Has anyone ever used any of these as a mid morning snake ?
